How they met...

"Bryan and I in the summer of 2013 working at a country club in Nashville, TN. My family had recently moved to Nashville, TN from Austin, TX while I was attending college in Alabama - Bryan has lived in Nashville his entire life. We both found ourselves working at a country club for a summer job, through casual conversation we found out that we both attended Auburn University. After two weeks of dating, I attended a crawfish boil party his his family's home and we couldn't stop talking about how it felt like we had known each other for years. We went back to Auburn University the fall of 2013 and continued to date throughout college. Bryan proposed to me on July 4, 2015 in Atlanta, GA. We had attended a Red, White, & Brew event at the Georgia Aquarium and in the evening you were allowed to go on the roof to watch fireworks over Piedmont Park - while we were watching fireworks he found a more secluded spot on the roof and asked me to marry him."

Alex and Bryan were married June 18th, 2016. You can tell just by looking at the wedding photos, but this day was so much fun! This beautiful barn wedding was a party from start to finish, celebrating the start of an amazing journey with this couple. Here are Alex's answers to our bridal questionnaire when asked about her wedding and dress!

What is your favorite thing about your dress?

Oh my goodness, my dress was my most favorite part about the wedding. It was absolutely gorgeous. My most favorite part about it was the lace appliqué at the bottom of my dress and how each layer had a different set of lace on it. It just added such sweet detail too it - especially throughout my train. I also loved all of the detail of the beading over the lace throughout the bodice.

What was the highlight of choosing Rebecca's Wedding Boutique?

For us, it was honestly all of the help we received and different gowns we saw on the very first day we stepped into Rebecca's Wedding Boutique. We had visited 9 different bridal stores before Rebecca's. I am from Lexington, KY and we had to go to Louisville to get my ring sized correctly at Shane's Co, when we were there a girl mentioned that I had to check out Rebecca's. When we arrived later that afternoon and I tried on my first dress there (it ended up not being the one I bought) my mom and I both sighed - we knew I was going to find my dress here! It was such a relief to finally find not only the style of dress we were looking for, but also the quality for our price range.

What advice would give to brides currently looking for a gown?

To try on one of every style!! I originally did not want any lace on my dress in the slightest. I did not like the look of it and did not think it would look good on me. I also did not want a form-fitting bodice, I didn't think it would look flattering. Well... that is exactly the dress I got and it was gorgeous. So go into dress shopping with an open mind and try on everything! You'll really be able to narrow down the style you like when you are able to compare it other dresses you have tried.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

My absolute favorite moment of the day was when I was walking down the aisle to Bryan and seeing tears in his eyes. It was truly the first time that I had seen him cry - it just brought so much peace to my heart knowing that I was honestly marrying not only my best friend, but the man I have prayed over for so long. I am so honored and lucky to be his wife!

How did your groom react when he saw you in your dress?

We did not do a first look before the ceremony, my husband wanted the first time to see me in my dress was when I was walking down the aisle. It was the sweetest moment to see his face and the tears in his eyes- it was that moment for us where it felt like "this day has finally arrived". I am so thankful that he talked me into waiting to see each other until the ceremony!

Were there any themes or specific styles for your wedding?

Being on a horse farm in Kentucky, I definitely wanted to do something more rustic, but not too country. So we incorporated a more romantic and rustic theme throughout the wedding.

If so, what was it that made you decide on that theme or style?

Our venue was absolutely gorgeous - so I did not want to take away anything from the venue by doing too much. So we just wanted too add a little bit of a romantic touch to the horse farm.

What made you decide on your venue location(s)?

The main reason was the fact of how absolutely gorgeous Polo Barn at Saxony Farms is and how well Rosie (the owner) was to work with, she is so kind and always willing to lend a helping hand or piece of advice. We also loved the fact that we had it from Thursday until Sunday. So we were able to set up our own decorations and have our rehearsal dinner at the Polo Barn as well.
