"Chad and I met at work, we went out with a group of co-workers for happy hour one day and just immediately hit it off. We started out being really great friends, we shared a lot of common interests. Chad was just a cool, easy-going guy, very witty. It was easy to fall in love with him. Family was a big part of both of our lives, and we both seemed to fit into each other's so seamlessly. Chad proposed on a beach trip to Seaside, Florida (my family's favorite spot) with both of our parents. We were out on the beach at sunset, with our parents watching from a distance, he really outdid himself. Chad picked the ring out himself, I was not involved in the process at all. And I liked that, the ring is perfect and special because it was all him."

Ally and Chad were married on September 17th, 2016, which was the same day Ally's sister got married 11 years ago! This dance was very special to them and the couple even dedicated an anniversary dance to them. Look Ally had to say when asked about her dress and wedding!

What is your favorite thing about your dress?

The lace sleeves. This was something I knew I wanted in my dress from the beginning. Love, love, love! My mom had sleeves on her wedding gown and I always loved it.

What was the highlight of choosing Rebecca's Wedding Boutique?

Both of my sisters shopped Rebecca's for their wedding dress and it was a great experience. It's a local boutique and known for the exceptional customer service.

What advice would give to brides currently looking for a gown?

You can fall in love with many dresses, go with your first instinct, otherwise it can be overwhelming. I tried on my dress at Rebecca's and loved it but wanted to look at a few other places. I came back to the very same dress at Rebecca's, it was the one.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

The first look. We originally were going to forgo the first look photos so that walking down the aisle would be the first time we saw each other. I'm forever grateful for the one-on-one time during the first look, there's no other point during the wedding day where you get that alone time. It calmed my nerves.

How did your groom react when he saw you in your dress?

His eyes, he couldn't take them off me.

Were there any themes or specific styles for your wedding?

I knew I wanted an outside, barn wedding.. but with a bohemian, rustic touch. It was all that and more. I think it fit the style of my dress, I always loved the bohemian style outdoor wedding. It's romantic and fun, I never wanted anything formal. I think it fit our personalities perfectly.

What made you decide on your venue location(s)?

We looked at four venues, all outdoor barn venues. The Brown-Forman Silo Center was just so new and unique. We liked the idea of an outdoor ceremony but felt comforted by the barn as a plan B. We ended up delaying our wedding 10 minutes to see if the rain would stop, it stopped just in time. We had our outdoor ceremony as dreamed with an outdoor cocktail hour and then headed to the barn for dinner & dancing. The venue had a natural flow to it, there wasn't much effort to make three separate spaces come alive for the ceremony, cocktail hour & reception.

What else stood out to you on your wedding day?

Design: My mom, Cathy Byrd, did much of the design planning. She not only understood my style, but she loved it herself. She went above and beyond. So many of the small, sweet touches were all her. I can't thank her enough. She's a retired teacher, I keep telling her she has a calling in wedding planning.

Music: I only mention this because Chad and I are huge music junkies. We splurged on a bluegrass band for the ceremony + cocktail hour, Misty Mountain String Band. They were incredible and went along perfectly with our theme. We had Sixty-Four West as our reception band, the dance floor was never empty. If you're trying to decide band vs DJ, go band. You won't regret it, and neither will your guests.

Their Bohemian rustic wedding was a dream wedding fit for pinterest and the love the couple has for each other was obvious. Check out the incredible photography from FiRm Anchor below!

We are so happy for this amazing couple!

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day in such a special way!
