Bridal Spotlight: Ashley McCormick

Classic and elegant Southern style weddings are our brides' specialties! We loved Ashley's look and feel, and her gown is STUNNING. Read below about Ashley's shopping experience with Rebecca's as well as her favorite wedding day memories!

With me living in Dallas, TX, I wasn't able to come to Rebecca's at the drop of a hat any time I wanted. Rebecca's was SUPER accommodating in my limited schedule, and made me feel extremely special during the crazy experience that is wedding planning. Before going in and trying on gowns, I thought I wanted strapless and a little more "poof", with a long veil. I was so wrong once I tried that all on! I had no idea that there were literally endless options. For someone that has a tough time being a decision maker, the beginning was a bit overwhelming!

I brought my mother and my sister with me. I felt that the smaller the crowd, the better. Too much advice will get overwhelming and this is a huge moment in your life! (You can celebrate with all of your girlfriends afterwards - they'll understand.) My mom was a huge help in narrowing down my choices, by having me say three pros and three cons about each dress and weighed the options accordingly!

After trying on only five dresses, I knew that I had found my dress! My favorite attributes of the gown were the neckline and the fit. It was comfortable, very "me", fit the venue, and was unlike any other dress I had seen. I loved how excited the entire crew got when I picked my dress. It was like I was there with all of my friends.

Drew and I got married April 25, 2015, and originally we were going to have an outdoor ceremony, because I loved the idea about having the ceremony and reception under the tent. However, with the 100% chance of hail, we changed ceremony venues just FIVE days before the wedding to Brodus Chapel at The Southern Baptist Seminary & everything was perfect. I was definitely going for classic and elegant styles that remained timeless. Oh- and unwanted hail.

When Drew first saw me in my gown, there were immediately tears of happiness! He absolutely loved my gown, and seeing me in it for the first time definitely showed that. Our first look was my favorite part of the wedding!

If I had any advice for future brides looking for a gown, I’d definitely say go in with an idea of what you want, but don't limit yourself! Try on styles that you never thought you would - you might be surprised. You only do this once!
